Privacy policy
Saju Character (saju.calculab.net, "this site") is built to avoid collecting or storing personal information. Still, some information is processed through our ad and hosting providers, so as required by Article 30 of Korea's Personal Information Protection Act, we explain what is processed and where.
1. Information we don't collect
We don't ask for your name, phone number, email, or gender. There is no signup, login, or payment.
2. Your birthday and birth time
The birthday, birth time, and birthplace you enter are used for calculation only, inside the browser on your own device. They are not sent to a server, not put in the address bar (URL), and not stored anywhere. They disappear when you close the page. That means even the operator can't know who was born when.
3. What stays on your device
The two items below are kept in your browser's storage (localStorage). They are not sent to a server, and on their own they can't identify you.
| What is kept | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your Day Pillar number (a single number from 0 to 59) | When you tap "See today's flow" or "2027: 12 months for your character", or choose a Day Pillar on the Today, 2027, or daily fortune pages (money, love, career, health, exam, job search) | So you don't have to enter your birthday again next time |
| Whether you flipped today's tarot card (today's date, Day Pillar number, and whether it is flipped) | When you flip today's tarot card | So the card stays flipped if you reopen the page that day |
The Day Pillar number is deleted when you tap "Change Day Pillar", and the tarot record is deleted the next day when you open the Today page. If you clear site data in your browser settings, both disappear right away. This site does not create cookies itself.
When you send a compatibility link or a 2027 link, the address contains only a Day Pillar number (a single number from 0 to 59) or a Day Pillar name. It never contains a birthday. A Day Pillar you view through a link is not saved on this device. Cards you pick in the three-card tarot reading are not saved either.
4. Records created automatically
| Record | Contents | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Access logs | IP address, browser information, requested address and time | Delivering the site, blocking attacks, and investigating outages. Processed by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. |
| Visit statistics | Visits per page, device type, country | To learn which pages people read. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies. |
| Button click counts | Button name and the page address you were on | To count how many times "Save story image", "Send to a friend", "Save compatibility image", and "See all 12 months for free" are pressed. Only one line per click is kept, with the button name, page address, and time. We don't store IP addresses, device information, or the birthday you entered, so we can't tell who pressed a button. |
5. Ads and cookies (personalized ads)
This site shows ads through Google AdSense. When ads load, Google and other third-party ad vendors may store or read cookies in your browser. They use these cookies to choose ads you may like based on your visits to this site and other sites (behavioral information), and to keep the same ad from showing too often. This information is processed by the ad vendors, not by the operator of this site, and the operator does not receive it.
- How Google uses this information: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services
- Turn off personalized ads: Google Ads Settings
- Turn off personalized ads from other ad vendors: aboutads.info
- Block cookies in your browser: In Chrome, go to Settings, Privacy and security, Third-party cookies. In Safari, use the Safari settings and turn on Prevent cross-site tracking. In Edge, use Settings, Cookies and site permissions. Blocking ad cookies (third-party cookies) doesn't stop the site from working. If you also block site data storage, you will need to choose your Day Pillar again each time on the Today and 2027 pages.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent prompt appears before any ad cookies are used.
6. Companies that process data for us, and overseas processing
This site doesn't gather personal information and pass it to other companies. We do rely on the companies below to run the site, so when you open a page your browser connects directly to their servers, and the information in sections 4 and 5 is processed on servers overseas (mainly in the United States).
| Company (country) | Role | Information processed | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) | Site hosting, visit statistics, button click counts | Access logs, visit statistics, button records | Button records 3 months; otherwise per company policy |
| Google LLC (United States) | Font delivery (Google Fonts) | IP address, browser information | Per company policy |
| Google LLC (United States) | Advertising (AdSense) | Ad cookies, device and browser information, behavioral information | Per company policy |
When and how: sent over an encrypted internet connection each time you open a page.
How to opt out: you can refuse ad cookies using the methods in section 5. Hosting and fonts are required to show the site, so opting out of them means not using this site.
7. Retention and deletion
The operator holds no personal information, so there is no separate deletion procedure. Button records contain nothing that identifies you, and they are kept in Cloudflare storage for 3 months and then deleted automatically. You can delete what stays on your device at any time using the methods in section 3.
8. Children under 14
We don't ask for age and don't collect personal information, so we don't separately collect personal information from children under 14.
9. Your rights
The operator holds no personal information, so there is nothing to request access to, correct, or delete. If you have questions or requests anyway, please contact us below. For information processed by ad vendors, you can opt out using the methods in section 5 or contact the company directly.
10. How we keep things safe
- We built the site so that what you enter never goes to a server, which means there is no personal information to leak or steal in the first place.
- The site is delivered over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Button click counting rejects requests from other sites and button names that we haven't defined in advance.
