Death (死) stage meaning
The time energy stops. A stage with little movement, but one that digs deep into a single thing.
What is the Death stage?
Death (死) is the stage where energy has come to a stop. The character for death makes people shun it, but in practice it means reflection rather than activity, and the inside rather than the outside. In place of movement, you dig into one thing to the end, and you have deep ties to scholarship, research, and religion.
When your Day Pillar sits at Death
If your Day Pillar sits at Death, you are quiet and serious. You think more than you speak, and once you decide on something, you keep at it for a long time. The catch is that you are passive and stubborn, slow to change, and prone to suffering alone.
In the Year, Month, and Hour Pillars
Death in the Year Pillar means your family was quiet or you spent a lot of time alone as a child, and Death in the Month Pillar fits work that digs deep, like research, scholarship, and specialized skills. Death in the Hour Pillar means a quiet later life turned inward.
Things to watch
Keep swallowing things alone and your path narrows. Keep someone nearby who draws your thoughts out into words.
